1) NO amount of Money is worth a life! If confronted with this type of situation do not endanger your life over demands for money or other tangible items.
2) Get the best description that you can and call the Police immediately. The sooner the Police can get on the case the better.
3) Remember that money and jewelry can be replaced, a life can not.
4) If at all possible do your banking during business hours. It should be a required business practice to have at least two people present for any night drops.
There has been 4 different incidents where Ford SUV's have been broken into. These incidents all occurred on Dec 5 between 9:30 A.M. and 7:30 P.M. In all these incidents the front window was smashed out of the vehicle and the factory stereo/CD player was stolen. These incidents all occurred at hotels in Troy, 1 at the Troy Marriot 200 W Big Beaver, 1 at the Embassy suites 850 Tower, and 2 at the Drury Inn 575 W Big Beaver.
A 2004 Hyundai was broken into at the Hooters Restaurant at 1686 John R on DEC 6 between 6:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. The perpetrator smashed out the drivers side rear window and stole a HP laptop.
As we have seen in years past the closer we get to the Holidays the more break-ins tend to occur. Be extra vigilant during this time. Make sure you lock your vehicle up and park in a well lit area. Ensure that anything of value is out of sight.
