Holiday Weekend Crime Alert December 28, 2004
Troy Residents,
****Oakland Mall and Plaza area****
Retail Fraud (Shoplifting), Marshall Field’s 500 W. 14 Mile Rd. 12/23 6:06 PM. A black female suspect grabbed an armful of clothing, ran out the doors, and fled in a blue Dodge Neon.
Larceny, Victoria’s Secret, 412 W. 14 Mile, 12/24, 7:00 PM. A 23-year-old woman reported leaving her purse on the counter. When she returned, it was missing. No one turned it in. Her personal identification cards were inside.
Embezzlement, JC Penney, 700 W. 14 Mile, 12/24. A 38 year old male employee is suspected of stealing three women’s leather jackets with a total value of $799.97. Loss Prevention Officers caught him attempting to leave the store with the jackets concealed in his garment bag. He was terminated and prosecution is pending.
Armed Robbery / Car Jacking Arrest, 402 W. 14 Mile, 12/24/04, 8:50 PM. A 27-year-old male victim was sitting in his 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche in the parking lot north of Chili’s on his cell phone. A suspect approached and asked to use his cell phone. The victim refused, but gave suspect 50 cents to use pay phone inside Chili’s. The suspect produced a handgun, ordered the victim out of his car and stole his cell phone, money, and vehicle. Madison Heights Police located the suspect vehicle near John R and 13 Mile. The vehicle initially stopped, then fled. It slid on the snow and struck a parked car in the area of Blairmoor and Manchester. The suspect fled on foot, however was located and arrested by a Troy K-9 unit with the assistance of Madison Heights Officers in the backyard of a home. The victim’s cell phone, money, and a handgun were recovered. Suspect was arraigned on 12/26. He was charged with Armed Robbery, Carjacking, and Possession of a Firearm in a Felony. He received a $50,000.00 cash bond. He was turned over to Oakland County Jail. He is 21 years old, from Lakewood, Ohio.
Crime Prevention Tip: If you must sit in your vehicle for extended times; keep the windows up and the doors locked. If someone that you do not know approaches, do not open the door or window. If they claim they need help, call the police (9-1-1 works on cellular phones). If they are persistent, or if you are suspicious of them, drive away and call the police.
Retail Fraud, Marshall Field’s, 500 W. 14 Mile, 12/26, 2:15 PM. 2 black females and a black male described as being in their 20’s set off the alarm as they ran out the doors with stolen merchandise. They dropped 3 coats valued at $140.00 each before entering a gray, 4D, Nissan Altima or Maxima and escaping. Loss Prevention Officers stated suspects were still in possession of other stolen merchandise when they entered the car.
Embezzlement Under $200.00 Arrest, Kids Foot Locker, 412 W. 14 Mile, 12/26 3:54 PM. 17-year-old male cashier was arrested after being observed giving a $105.00 pair of shoes to a 16-year-old female and not ringing them up.
Retail Fraud Arrests, Marshall Field’s, 500 W. 14 Mile, 12/26, 11:15 AM. A 17 and 18 year old female were arrested after stealing $312.00 worth of clothing.

Uttering and Publishing Arrest (forgery), Oakland Mall, 412 W. 14 Mile, 12/26, 8:30 AM-2:00 PM. A 20-year-old female was arrested after passing $1450.00 worth of counterfeit Oakland Mall gift certificates at various stores in the mall. An additional $650.00 worth of counterfeit Oakland Mall certificates were recovered from the suspect. She told officers she purchased them from an unknown male in the parking lot.

Suspicious Incident/Lost Property, 2075 W Big Beaver, Nieman Marcus, 12/24, 10:00AM. A woman reports that her purse, containing an 8-karat diamond bracelet, fell off her coat sash when walking into the store. She advised officers she carried it in her purse because she did not wish to take a chance of it falling off her wrist. There were some inconsistencies in her account.
Drove While License Suspended Arrest/Pedestrian Injury Crash, Somerset Mall, 2801 W. Big Beaver, 12/24, 3:55 pm. A 35-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up as she walked in the lot. She was found partially under the truck. She was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. The 21-year-old male driver was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. He had 14 current points on his record.
Safety Tip: Parking lots can be just as dangerous as streets, and even more so. Drivers may be distracted looking for open spaces and not see you. Pay close attention to all directions of traffic, and be prepared to move out of the way. Drivers, watch out for pedestrians and other cars backing out of spaces. It is difficult to remove all of the snow from parking lots, so they may be more slippery than the roads.
******Southeast Quadrant of the City******
Disorderly Person, Assault & Battery, Hinder & Obstruct Police Arrest, Traffic Detail, East Big Beaver/East of John R, 12/24, 10:00 PM. Officer arrested 20-year-old male for Assaulting an Officer (among other charges) after he disregarded the officer’s direction and physically assaulted him. Apparently suspect had just attended Christmas service at nearby church. Another officer attempting to respond to assist the first officer at the location cited a 46-year-old male driver for failing to yield to an Emergency Vehicle.
Larceny from Auto, Discount Tire, 1125 E. 14 Mile, 12/24, 1045 AM-7:15 PM. The victim reports that the passenger side front window of his car was broken out while it was parked awaiting service. A jacket, CD’s, and the car stereo were stolen.
Home Invasion, Jackson street, 12/25, 1:30 PM-10:00 PM. An unknown person pried open the front door and stole the top drawer of the resident’s dresser. That drawer contained the resident’s financial records, but no cash. In a similar home invasion five months ago $4000 in cash was stolen from the same drawer.
Larceny, Grand Haven street, 12-24/12-27, 4:00PM-1100PM. The victim reports someone stole the center caps from his vehicle while parked in parking lot of complex. Other vehicles were possibly attacked but officers were unable to contact owners at time of report.
Manufacture Methamphetamines Warrant Arrest, Wisconsin street, 12/27/04 6:50 PM. Officers located the suspect at the home of his parents and arrested him on an outstanding warrant from Michigan State Police Southwest Enforcement Team. He was carrying a loaded 9mm in his waistband. A truck reported stolen out of Illinois was recovered in the driveway. Arrested suspect is believed to have been the driver who fled from Troy Officer earlier this year in the Maple / Dequindre area. Narcotics paraphernalia and a lap top computer consistent with Meth production were recovered from the vehicle he was driving after he abandoned it during that incident.
Larceny, 2888 E. Maple, Classic Hand Car Wash. The victim reports that $9,000. in cash was taken from his car when he left it for service. A blue Ford F-150 pick up and gray Dodge Ram pick up were seen quickly leaving at the time the theft was discovered.

Larceny in a Building, Bonito street, 12/23, 7:00 PM. The victim reports that the father of one of her children stole $4000 worth of jewelry and watches from her house while he was visiting.
Identity Theft, Hartland street, 12/23-12/27. The victim reports that someone used her Master Card Debit Card to make $2000.00 worth of purchases at several stores in Dearborn. She still has originals, therefore suspects responsible party used her personal information to obtain duplicate cards.

Breaking and Entering of an Auto, 203 W. Big Beaver, Bally’s, 12-23-04, approx. 3:00 PM. The victim reports that someone broke into her car and stole her purse when it was parked in Bally’s parking lot back on the 23rd. Cash, credit and ATM cards missing.
Threats, Carter street, 12/21, 10:30 AM. (Reported 12/27) A 35-year-old male reported receiving a text message on his cell phone from current girlfriend’s ex-husband threatening him.
****** Southwest Quadrant of the City ******
Larceny, Enterprise Rent a Car, 1810 Maplelawn, 12/22-12/23. The victim reported leaving a $3000.00 set of golf clubs in the trunk of the rental vehicle she turned in on 12/22. When she contacted the rental agency, they stated they had already rented it to another client. They contacted that client who stated there were no clubs in the trunk.
Fail to Stop and Identify at the Scene of Crash/Drove While License Suspended Arrest, Northbound I-75 at Rochester, 12/24, 7:32 AM. The freeway was closed due to another crash and icing conditions when a 1991 Caravan struck one of the cars involved in the crash. When officers approached, the van drove off. It was subsequently stopped, and the 29-year-old female driver was arrested for failing to stop at crash and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Drove While License Suspended Arrest, Southbound I-75 at Big Beaver, 12/23, 7:39 PM. A 20-year-old female was arrested at the scene of a crash for driving on a suspended license. The investigation revealed that she lost control of her 1994 Ford Taurus. It was found on its roof in the median on the overpass. No injuries.
Home Invasion, Troy Center street, 12/24/04, 1:15 PM-3:30 PM. The victim states unknown suspect(s) broke into his apt and stole Christmas gifts and other items.
Larceny, Wal-Mart, 2001 W. Maple, 12/26, 2:45 PM. The victim left/forgot her purse in her shopping cart after loading her car. When she returned, it was gone. No one turned it into store personnel. Cell phone, $300.00 cash, and ATM card missing.
Retail Fraud Arrest, Target, 1301 Coolidge, 12/27, 3:05 PM. A 20-year-old female stole $53.96 worth of CD’s and was apprehended by store personnel.
Embezzlement over $1000.00 Arrest, Target, 1301 Coolidge, 12/27, 6:10 PM. Loss Prevention Officer noticed merchandise piled in stock room where it did not belong. Later he observed store employee exiting that area of the stock room pushing a shopping cart containing a large Rubbermaid storage container. The stacked merchandise was gone. The employee paid for the container. She was stopped upon exit and $1670.35 worth of stolen merchandise including camcorders, video games, videocassettes, and an iPod were recovered. 18-year-old female was arrested.

Significant Incidents and Arrests Since Friday, December 17, 2004
Larceny by False Pretense/Larceny in a Building, Pauline street, 12/17, 1:05 PM. 74-year-old female victim was approached by suspect as she returned to her home. He told her the wheel on her car was about to fall off. Victim told suspect to talk to her husband who was inside the home. Suspect assisted victim carry bags of groceries into home where he advised the 74-year-old husband about the wheel. All three went outside where the suspect explained his observations. The husband has a bad back so could not stoop to inspect the wheel. He and suspect returned inside where suspect advised the husband he could make the repair for $150.00. The husband provided $100.00 with the agreement that he’d pay the rest when done. The suspect went outside and asked the wife if she had change for $50.00. They both went back inside where she made change from an envelope that was in a cabinet. They both went outside. The suspect returned to the house where he directed the husband to fill a bucket of hot water so he could clean the rust from the wheel. Suspect then left. The envelope from the cabinet was found missing after his departure. Total stolen: $400.00. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5-7, 185, with brown hair. He was driving a black Chevrolet M-300.
Home Invasion Arrests, Trombley street, 12/18, 1000 AM. The complainant noticed his neighbor’s Plymouth Sundance parked down the street from his neighbor’s home. He knew the vehicle owner was out of town so he went to check his neighbor’s home and found it had been ransacked. Later that day, Troy detectives observed a Dodge Ram pickup occupied by three males drive onto the street. Two of the males got out of the pickup and entered the Sundance. Both vehicles attempted to drive off. Officers stopped the Sundance, however the pick-up tried to flee. It struck one of the detective’s vehicles and was stopped. The pick-up turned out to be stolen from the vacationing homeowner. Cocaine and marijuana were recovered from the driver of the pick-up. Further investigation revealed the driver of the pick-up committed the home invasion and stole the pick-up earlier. He transported the other suspects back to steal the Sundance, which had been moved from the garage to the street. The suspects have been arraigned and are charged with numerous crimes, including Home Invasion Second Degree, Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana, and Driving While License Suspended. Their bonds ranged from $10,000 to $25,000.
Assist Troy Haz-Mat and Troy Fire Department, 2708 Daily, 12/18, 6:08 PM. Troy officers responded to assist Troy Fire and Special Response personnel at the scene of an ammonia gas alarm. A security guard working at a building to the south heard the alarm and went outside to investigate. He inhaled some fumes that had been exhausted from site. He was treated at scene and returned to work. The investigation revealed a brine tank over-heated which caused an adjoining ammonia tank to pressurize, then vent outside. Haz-Mat Team members checked the inside of the building and determined no toxic levels of the gas inside. The original problem was remedied and the scene secured.
Stolen Vehicle Arrests, West Maple and Coolidge, 12/18, 6:38 PM. Troy officers responded to the area of Maple and Coolidge on a report from Royal Oak Police Department that they were in the area looking for car thieves that Beverly Hills PD had originally tried to stop. The suspects crashed the car near 14 Mile and Woodward where they fled on foot. Troy Officers located the suspects initially near the shopping plaza at the northeast corner of the intersection. They fled on foot to the east, but were stopped and arrested in the Dean Seller’s Ford lot. The two appeared to be juveniles and were turned over to Royal Oak and Beverly Hills PD’s.
Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicles Arrest, Crooks and Meijer Drive, 12:20 AM. While in the area on an unrelated run, a Royal Oak Officer noticed a 1997 Subaru station wagon driving through the lots of closed businesses. He observed the driver exit and look into a vehicle parked behind 2500 Meijer. When the suspect observed the police car, he entered his car and tried to flee, however he struck a tree and came to a stop. Troy officers responded, checked near-by lots and discovered a Saturn SCZ and Chevrolet Lumina Mini-van had been broken into. Stolen items recovered from the attacked vehicles included a purse, in-dash stereo, 2 bags, a quantity of CD’s, 2 hand held TV’s, a cell phone, and a Gameboy. A pick-up truck also had a large toolbox stolen from its bed. The arrested suspect is a 36-year-old male.
Minor in Possession/Consuming Alcohol Citation, Troy Police Station Walk-up Desk, 500 West Big Beaver, 12/18, 1052 AM. An 18-year-old male reported to take his daily breath test that was part of his bond while awaiting trial on a drunk driving incident. A condition of his bond required that he consume no alcohol and submit to periodic breath tests at the Police Station. He registered a .07. He admitted drinking at a friend’s earlier that morning. He was issued a citation for Minor in Possession of Alcohol (by consumption). The court, and pre-trial supervisor were advised of the violation.
Fatal Traffic Crash, Southbound I-75 north of Wattles, 12/26, 6:10 PM. A 2004 Hummer in left lane veered onto left shoulder, lost control, skidded across the three southbound lanes onto the right shoulder and down the embankment. It flipped into the air and came down on the roof at the front passenger side area of the vehicle. The 16-year-old female driver from Grosse Pointe Woods was able to get out after being thrown into the rear seat. A witness who stopped to assist helped her escape by prying open the rear driver’s side door. She was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital with minor injuries. The front seat passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. She was a 15-years-old girl from Grosse Pointe Woods. The roof of the vehicle was crushed down onto the front passenger compartment with the driver’s side sustaining considerably less damage than the passenger side. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing seatbelts. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, however routine toxicology tests are pending. The driver stated she was cut off by another vehicle. Eyewitnesses to the crash that have been interviewed reported seeing no other vehicle cut the Hummer off. Witnesses indicated the Hummer suddenly swerved to the left shoulder then lost control. There was no impact with the left side guardrail. Witnesses estimated the Hummer was traveling approximately 80-85 mph. Their observations were based on their own speeds being estimated at 70-75 mph and the fact that the Hummer passed them. The speed limit in the area is 65 mph. We are in the process of re-interviewing witnesses and attempting to address the driver’s report of being cut off. The girls are long time best friends and were returning home from skiing at Mt. Holly. The freeway was closed for three hours to allow investigators to process the scene and collect evidence for reconstruction of the crash.
Safety Tip: SEATBELTS SAVE LIVES! Airbags alone will not restrain you in a traffic crash, especially at higher speeds. Make sure that younger drivers are familiar with the vehicle they are driving. Younger drivers often over-estimate the vehicle's capabilities and end up losing control. Teach your young drivers to respect the vehicle and the road conditions and to drive accordingly.

Breaking and Entering of an Auto, 203 W. Big Beaver, Bally’s, 12-23-04, approx. 3:00 PM. The victim reports that someone broke into her car and stole her purse when it was parked in Bally’s parking lot back on the 23rd. Cash, credit and ATM cards missing.
Threats, Carter street, 12/21, 10:30 AM. (Reported 12/27) A 35-year-old male reported receiving a text message on his cell phone from current girlfriend’s ex-husband threatening him.

Larceny, Enterprise Rent a Car, 1810 Maplelawn, 12/22-12/23. The victim reported leaving a $3000.00 set of golf clubs in the trunk of the rental vehicle she turned in on 12/22. When she contacted the rental agency, they stated they had already rented it to another client. They contacted that client who stated there were no clubs in the trunk.
Fail to Stop and Identify at the Scene of Crash/Drove While License Suspended Arrest, Northbound I-75 at Rochester, 12/24, 7:32 AM. The freeway was closed due to another crash and icing conditions when a 1991 Caravan struck one of the cars involved in the crash. When officers approached, the van drove off. It was subsequently stopped, and the 29-year-old female driver was arrested for failing to stop at crash and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Drove While License Suspended Arrest, Southbound I-75 at Big Beaver, 12/23, 7:39 PM. A 20-year-old female was arrested at the scene of a crash for driving on a suspended license. The investigation revealed that she lost control of her 1994 Ford Taurus. It was found on its roof in the median on the overpass. No injuries.
Home Invasion, Troy Center street, 12/24/04, 1:15 PM-3:30 PM. The victim states unknown suspect(s) broke into his apt and stole Christmas gifts and other items.
Larceny, Wal-Mart, 2001 W. Maple, 12/26, 2:45 PM. The victim left/forgot her purse in her shopping cart after loading her car. When she returned, it was gone. No one turned it into store personnel. Cell phone, $300.00 cash, and ATM card missing.
Retail Fraud Arrest, Target, 1301 Coolidge, 12/27, 3:05 PM. A 20-year-old female stole $53.96 worth of CD’s and was apprehended by store personnel.
Embezzlement over $1000.00 Arrest, Target, 1301 Coolidge, 12/27, 6:10 PM. Loss Prevention Officer noticed merchandise piled in stock room where it did not belong. Later he observed store employee exiting that area of the stock room pushing a shopping cart containing a large Rubbermaid storage container. The stacked merchandise was gone. The employee paid for the container. She was stopped upon exit and $1670.35 worth of stolen merchandise including camcorders, video games, videocassettes, and an iPod were recovered. 18-year-old female was arrested.

Significant Incidents and Arrests Since Friday, December 17, 2004
Larceny by False Pretense/Larceny in a Building, Pauline street, 12/17, 1:05 PM. 74-year-old female victim was approached by suspect as she returned to her home. He told her the wheel on her car was about to fall off. Victim told suspect to talk to her husband who was inside the home. Suspect assisted victim carry bags of groceries into home where he advised the 74-year-old husband about the wheel. All three went outside where the suspect explained his observations. The husband has a bad back so could not stoop to inspect the wheel. He and suspect returned inside where suspect advised the husband he could make the repair for $150.00. The husband provided $100.00 with the agreement that he’d pay the rest when done. The suspect went outside and asked the wife if she had change for $50.00. They both went back inside where she made change from an envelope that was in a cabinet. They both went outside. The suspect returned to the house where he directed the husband to fill a bucket of hot water so he could clean the rust from the wheel. Suspect then left. The envelope from the cabinet was found missing after his departure. Total stolen: $400.00. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5-7, 185, with brown hair. He was driving a black Chevrolet M-300.
Home Invasion Arrests, Trombley street, 12/18, 1000 AM. The complainant noticed his neighbor’s Plymouth Sundance parked down the street from his neighbor’s home. He knew the vehicle owner was out of town so he went to check his neighbor’s home and found it had been ransacked. Later that day, Troy detectives observed a Dodge Ram pickup occupied by three males drive onto the street. Two of the males got out of the pickup and entered the Sundance. Both vehicles attempted to drive off. Officers stopped the Sundance, however the pick-up tried to flee. It struck one of the detective’s vehicles and was stopped. The pick-up turned out to be stolen from the vacationing homeowner. Cocaine and marijuana were recovered from the driver of the pick-up. Further investigation revealed the driver of the pick-up committed the home invasion and stole the pick-up earlier. He transported the other suspects back to steal the Sundance, which had been moved from the garage to the street. The suspects have been arraigned and are charged with numerous crimes, including Home Invasion Second Degree, Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana, and Driving While License Suspended. Their bonds ranged from $10,000 to $25,000.
Assist Troy Haz-Mat and Troy Fire Department, 2708 Daily, 12/18, 6:08 PM. Troy officers responded to assist Troy Fire and Special Response personnel at the scene of an ammonia gas alarm. A security guard working at a building to the south heard the alarm and went outside to investigate. He inhaled some fumes that had been exhausted from site. He was treated at scene and returned to work. The investigation revealed a brine tank over-heated which caused an adjoining ammonia tank to pressurize, then vent outside. Haz-Mat Team members checked the inside of the building and determined no toxic levels of the gas inside. The original problem was remedied and the scene secured.
Stolen Vehicle Arrests, West Maple and Coolidge, 12/18, 6:38 PM. Troy officers responded to the area of Maple and Coolidge on a report from Royal Oak Police Department that they were in the area looking for car thieves that Beverly Hills PD had originally tried to stop. The suspects crashed the car near 14 Mile and Woodward where they fled on foot. Troy Officers located the suspects initially near the shopping plaza at the northeast corner of the intersection. They fled on foot to the east, but were stopped and arrested in the Dean Seller’s Ford lot. The two appeared to be juveniles and were turned over to Royal Oak and Beverly Hills PD’s.
Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicles Arrest, Crooks and Meijer Drive, 12:20 AM. While in the area on an unrelated run, a Royal Oak Officer noticed a 1997 Subaru station wagon driving through the lots of closed businesses. He observed the driver exit and look into a vehicle parked behind 2500 Meijer. When the suspect observed the police car, he entered his car and tried to flee, however he struck a tree and came to a stop. Troy officers responded, checked near-by lots and discovered a Saturn SCZ and Chevrolet Lumina Mini-van had been broken into. Stolen items recovered from the attacked vehicles included a purse, in-dash stereo, 2 bags, a quantity of CD’s, 2 hand held TV’s, a cell phone, and a Gameboy. A pick-up truck also had a large toolbox stolen from its bed. The arrested suspect is a 36-year-old male.
Minor in Possession/Consuming Alcohol Citation, Troy Police Station Walk-up Desk, 500 West Big Beaver, 12/18, 1052 AM. An 18-year-old male reported to take his daily breath test that was part of his bond while awaiting trial on a drunk driving incident. A condition of his bond required that he consume no alcohol and submit to periodic breath tests at the Police Station. He registered a .07. He admitted drinking at a friend’s earlier that morning. He was issued a citation for Minor in Possession of Alcohol (by consumption). The court, and pre-trial supervisor were advised of the violation.
Fatal Traffic Crash, Southbound I-75 north of Wattles, 12/26, 6:10 PM. A 2004 Hummer in left lane veered onto left shoulder, lost control, skidded across the three southbound lanes onto the right shoulder and down the embankment. It flipped into the air and came down on the roof at the front passenger side area of the vehicle. The 16-year-old female driver from Grosse Pointe Woods was able to get out after being thrown into the rear seat. A witness who stopped to assist helped her escape by prying open the rear driver’s side door. She was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital with minor injuries. The front seat passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. She was a 15-years-old girl from Grosse Pointe Woods. The roof of the vehicle was crushed down onto the front passenger compartment with the driver’s side sustaining considerably less damage than the passenger side. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing seatbelts. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, however routine toxicology tests are pending. The driver stated she was cut off by another vehicle. Eyewitnesses to the crash that have been interviewed reported seeing no other vehicle cut the Hummer off. Witnesses indicated the Hummer suddenly swerved to the left shoulder then lost control. There was no impact with the left side guardrail. Witnesses estimated the Hummer was traveling approximately 80-85 mph. Their observations were based on their own speeds being estimated at 70-75 mph and the fact that the Hummer passed them. The speed limit in the area is 65 mph. We are in the process of re-interviewing witnesses and attempting to address the driver’s report of being cut off. The girls are long time best friends and were returning home from skiing at Mt. Holly. The freeway was closed for three hours to allow investigators to process the scene and collect evidence for reconstruction of the crash.
Safety Tip: SEATBELTS SAVE LIVES! Airbags alone will not restrain you in a traffic crash, especially at higher speeds. Make sure that younger drivers are familiar with the vehicle they are driving. Younger drivers often over-estimate the vehicle's capabilities and end up losing control. Teach your young drivers to respect the vehicle and the road conditions and to drive accordingly.
